Swissolar certification is distinct but complementary to ESTI approval — it certifies specific skills in photovoltaics, beyond general electrical skills.
In French-speaking Switzerland, the first Swissolar certified installers began to appear around 2010 with the growth of the market. Today, serious installers display their Swissolar certification. Some cantons and municipalities require Swissolar certification for work benefiting from public aid.
