Most asked questions
Are solar panels profitable in Switzerland?
They can be, but the result depends on full cost, confirmed grants, output and the share consumed on site. Compare avoided purchases and export income, then deduct maintenance, losses and replacements. Calculate payback under several tariff scenarios; neither future price increases nor a fixed payback period are guaranteed.
What is the Pronovo Single Retribution (RU)?
The RU is the Swiss federal subsidy for new PV installations. Its amount depends on the Pronovo scale and the configuration; use the official tariff calculator before counting it in your budget. It is paid only once, after commissioning and validation of the file.
Is a battery profitable in my solar installation?
Not automatically. Calculate the additional electricity actually consumed after losses, avoided purchases and forgone export income. Deduct investment, maintenance and replacement. Backup power has a separate practical value and requires a compatible system. Compare several scenarios instead of assuming a fixed payback period.
Who should I contact first for my solar project?
Gather the address, bills and roof information, then contact an installer and identify the relevant DSO. Ask who prepares municipal notification, connection application, electrical inspection and Pronovo documents. Each task and its cost must appear in the quote or a written mandate.
What is the difference between kWp and kWh?
kWp expresses module rated power under standard test conditions. kWh expresses energy produced or consumed over a period. Annual output per kWp depends on location, orientation, shading and losses and should be simulated for the roof concerned.
