Problem Analysis
In a PPE or rental building, the RCP allows the electricity produced on the roof to be consumed on site before using the network. This improves the overall profitability of the project and limits dependence on low feed-in tariffs.
The model is based on a main metering point with an internal distribution of consumption. With a reliable smart metering tool, the owner or management company can bill transparently and in compliance with applicable rules.
Our Recommendation
Launch the project with a clear contractual framework and a professional counting system.
For a PPE, validate the governance principles (cost distribution, maintenance, invoicing) at an assembly before the start of the project.
If you are considering an extension into a local electricity community (CEL), check the technical and tariff conditions set by the DSO in advance.
Sources & Method
Analysis based on ElCom 2024–2026 data, OFEN (Federal Office of Energy), Pronovo SA, EPFL and HEG Geneva studies. The financial projections use the following assumptions unless otherwise stated: local purchase price, GRD injection price, production 1 100 kWh/kWp/year, self-consumption rate 35–40%. Actual results vary depending on canton, roof orientation and consumption profile. The site may also present its own services or calls for contact related to these subjects.
Next step
Compare several quotes, validate profitability with our tools and then check the contractual conditions adapted to your canton.
