Question 1: Does your installer have SIGENERGY installations in operation in Switzerland?
SIGENERGY is a recent brand on the Swiss market. The difference between an installer who offers you SIGENERGY because he really masters it and an installer who offers it because it is his new distributor contract can be significant for you. Ask explicitly: how many SIGENERGY installations have you carried out in Switzerland? How long ago? Can you give me contact details for 2 clients I can contact? A competent installer will respond without hesitation. An installer who has just discovered the brand will have difficulty answering precisely.
Question 2: Is the proposed configuration PRONOVO eligible and ESTI approved?
In Switzerland, electrical work must be carried out or controlled by an authorized company, and the equipment must comply with applicable standards. For Pronovo, above all, ask for complete documentation: exact inverter model, battery reference, power, diagrams, commissioning and safety parts. Do not assume the existence of a public list of “Pronovo approved” inverters or batteries.
Question 3: How does the SIGENERGY warranty work in Switzerland — who will respond in the event of a breakdown?
SIGENERGY offers 10–15 year manufacturer warranties on inverters and batteries. But the warranty is only useful if someone can activate it locally. Ask the question: in the event of a breakdown in 5 years, who will intervene? Is it the installer who takes care of the after-sales logistics with SIGENERGY, or will you have to fend for yourself with Chinese support? Ideally, your installer has a direct service contract with SIGENERGY Europe, with guaranteed response times written into your contract.
Question 4: Is the SIGENERGY ecosystem scalable with your future use?
SIGENERGY stands out for its modular architecture: you can theoretically add battery modules, expand EV charging capacity or add EMS functionality without changing the central inverter. Check in detail with your installer: how many additional battery modules can be connected afterwards? Does the current inverter support expansion to more modules without replacement? Is the EV charging station that SIGENERGY integrates compatible with your vehicle (CCS, Type 2, CHAdeMO)? These technical questions reveal whether the installer really knows the system.
Question 5: What is the actual feedback on clean consumption with SIGENERGY?
The EMS (energy management system) integrated into SIGENERGY is supposed to automatically optimize your self-consumption by prioritizing: (1) direct consumption of the panels, (2) battery charging, (3) EV charging, (4) network injection. Ask the installer for real monitoring data from existing installations: what average self-consumption rate do SIGENERGY customers achieve in your region? A good EMS should make it possible to achieve 65–80% self-consumption with battery. If the installer can't show you actual production data (not just simulations), be careful.
