For Tenants: Plug & Play to check before purchase
The simplest way for a tenant to access solar power in 2026 is often a balcony solar kit. Before purchasing, check the applicable AC limit, the type of socket allowed, the written agreement of the lessor or the PPE if the installation affects the balcony, the facade or the exterior aspect, then announce the commissioning to your network manager (GRD).
Safety of guardrails and balconies
Never take the risk of being torn away by the wind. The tenant remains fully responsible (private liability) if his sign injures a passer-by. The fixing hooks must be certified. Favor panels on weighted feet (on the floor of your terrace) if you have the space, or extremely light solutions if you have to attach them to your balcony railing after discussion with the management.
For Co-Ownerships (PPE): The obstacle of the majority
If the PPE wishes to invest on the common roof, the path is legal and requires a passage to the General Assembly. Once the feasibility studies have been carried out, financing from the renovation fund requires a “double majority” (majority of people + majority of thousandths). The most difficult thing is often to convince those (often on the ground floor) who see it as less attractive, or to agree on whether the roof needs major repairs or if it only covers 40% of the building's total consumption.
Managing power in a building: creation of a local group
Once the PPE has installed the panels, how does the intercom or Madame Dupond benefit from the performance? The only viable solution (and very efficient fiscally) is called Regrouping within the Framework of Clean Consumption (RCP). The building will only have one meter with the external network supplier. And internally, a sub-metering system for all apartments charges the distribution key by adding rent and energy within the PPE regulations.
