Many delays come from the connection, not the panels
A solar project can be mechanically completed and yet remain stuck administratively or technically. The cause is often the same: the connection to the network is started too late, with an incomplete file, or without clear coordination between installer, electrician and service manager distribution network.
Here is a simple method to keep this aspect under control.
The method in 5 steps
Identify the DSO and its requirements from the quote
Each zone depends on its network manager. The forms, deadlines, counting methods and documents expected may vary. The first reflex therefore consists of to check which DSO is competent for your building and what steps it imposes.
This should be clarified before signing, rather than after installation.
Prepare a usable technical file
The file must bring together the elements which allow the GRD to quickly understand the project: planned power, electrical diagram, type of inverter, injection mode, protections and approximate timetable.
A vague file wastes everyone's time and lengthens the back and forth.
Frame the topic of meter, injection and price early
Connecting is more than just “plugging in”. It is necessary also know how the energy will be measured, how the surplus will be recognized and under what conditions the electricity will be restored.
This step avoids surprises on the logic of invoicing and resale.
Reserve commissioning as a step in its own right
Between the end of the construction site, the electrical checks and the validation of the GRD, there is often an incompressible amount of time. It is therefore necessary to schedule appointments and responsibilities in upstream to prevent a completed installation from remaining inactive.
Commissioning is a project sequence, not a simple final click.
Close the file with the right documents and the right follow-up
Once the installation is activated, make sure that the counter, monitoring, injection data and receipt documents are consistent. It's also the right one moment to verify that the logic of reselling the surplus corresponds well to what was planned.
A well-connected project is a project that can be exploited without ambiguity from the first weeks.
The right reflex on the owner's side
Always ask who is wearing what: installer, electrician, GRD, organization of control. As long as this distribution is not written, the risk of floating remains high, especially on projects where several stakeholders are involved share the folder.
